Experience

I have over twenty years of classroom teaching experience and four years of private tutoring, My professional journey includes teaching at two ESF schools in Hong Kong and being trained in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IBPYP). Additionally, I am a UK-certified teacher and have completed professional development courses from prestigious institutions such as Harvard and Stanford Universities.

I have a diverse teaching portfolio, with experience across various curricula including IBPYP, American Common Core State Standards, and the British Curriculum. My students come from some of Hong Kong's most reputable schools, such as HKIS, Kellett School, GSIS, ESF Kennedy School, CDNIS, ESF Kowloon Junior School, and Marymount Primary School.

Approach to Teaching

My teaching and learning approach is student-centered, focusing on active engagement through reflection, games, discussions, investigations, questioning, and open-ended problems. I adapt my methods to suit each student's unique learning preferences, ensuring a flexible and personalised experience. I also emphasise fostering a growth mindset, encouraging students to explore concepts such as patterns, connections, visualisation, interpretation, curiosity, and learning from mistakes.

About Me

I'm from the UK, and have lived and worked in Hong Kong for 14 years. I'm a sea swimmer, table tennis learner, baker, hiker, crocheter, dog (actually all animals) lover, macrame learner, DIY experimenter and paddle boarder.
